Our Vision

We are an intentional community that honors and celebrates the diversity, oneness, and inter-relatedness of all creation. We support each other as evolving compassionate, spiritual beings who recognize our connection to the world community. We benefit from the sharing of ideas, time, skills, tools and responsibilities. We enjoy communal time while respecting individual and family needs. We value nature, beauty and ecologically sustainable living.
simple site plan 7-08

We are building 19 homes in a circle around a common green. As you can see, parking is at the entrance to the property and the homes and common house form a circle around the common green.

Note that the buildings are mislabeled in this old site plan: the common house (Building CH) is now Building A and the homes are Building B through Building F.

We are building on the relatively flat part of a ravine, which will provide a permanent green belt next to us.

building_b

This is building B (next to the Common House).

Downstairs are two homes with daylight basements that open to the ravine. Each of these homes are about 1900 square feet.

Upstairs are two homes with large lofts. They are about 950 square feet with another 200 square feet in the lofts.

All of the homes in this building have already been bought and customized.

Here are the full architectural plans for this four-plex, including our customizations.

building_c

This is building C.

It is very similar to building B; upstairs and downstairs homes are all the same size as in building B.

The two homes on the left side of the picture have been bought and customized. But, the two homes on the right (upstairs with a loft or downstairs with a daylight basement) are both available for purchase.

Now would be a great time to join Woodard Lane Cohousing to claim one of these homes as your own!

Here are the full architectural plans for this four-plex, including our customizations to the purchased homes.

Where is building D?

Building D is at the top of the circle. It is not shown here, because none of the units in it have been sold, yet. Its exact design and layout are the least certain and not drawn, yet. We expect that building D will be very similar to building E (before customizations are made in the purchased units of E).

Now would be a great time to join Woodard Lane Cohousing and help us finish designing building D.

building_e

This is building E.

Building E has two homes downstairs, about 950 square feet each.

The two homes upstairs have large lofts. These homes are about 950 square feet, plus another 200 square feet of loft.

Both homes upstairs have been bought and customized, as has the home downstairs on the left of the picture.

The home downstairs on the right will be our temporary Common House. We must have a Common House built and useable before anyone can occupy their homes. Since we are not building the Common House until the second phase of construction, we need to have a temporary Common House, which will be here.

Here are the current architectural plans for this four-plex, including our customizations to the purchased homes and modifications for the temporary Common House.

Where is building F?

Building F has a long and complicated past. As we struggle with decisions of whether to ask the city council for permission to build more than the 19 homes we are allowed and as we struggle with where to put homes 17, 18, and 19, we waffle on the existence of building F. We can try to attach 3 smaller homes to the Common House and not build F. Or, we can just build 3 more standard sized homes as a three-plex building F. If we petition the city council for a "density bonus" to build 1-4 more homes, and if our request is granted, then we would need a building F for these homes.

So, the existence of building F is questionable, though possible, at this point.

Now would be a great time to join Woodard Lane Cohousing and help us make decisions like this.
